What fabulous weather! Were we lucky or what? Section Stats to come.

Provisional results are available on the right. I had a mix up with test results so will have to look at them again. Let me know if you spot anything possibly wrong. admin@wgdfmcc.org.uk

In case you weren't aware, we had 3 first timers riding. 1 in the Juniors and 2 in Adults. Tony and Glyn's results both show improvements for each section during the day, (young Billy too.). In Tony's case the 185 was sounding sicker towards the end but he stuck with it. Good news is he's got the bug and is after a proper Trials bike. Anyone ready to sell theirs off? (see his Wanted advert)

Update: OK, I've sussed what happened on the punchcards. What it boils down to is some of you were just out of sync after starting on section 2 but punching in section 1's row, then continuing one out of sync. Some of you didn't use the correct punch at the end of the section then punched the last few with whatever punch was to hand. That is fine for trials where you aren't given a section by section result and can therefore not question any errors, but we know transferring punch marks to the results sheet is prone to errors and would like to give you a chance to correct them. What you may not have spotted was that each of the punches have different shapes and sizes. This means I can spot patterns, like the first three sections went; Club, Heart, Small circle. So when someone's sole 2 on section 4 is with a Club punch, it could be that it was marked at a later section, or it might have been sections 1, 5 or 8 as they all had club shaped punches. I'm not picking on anyone in particular here as 75% of us had some discrepency. If you want reliable results then punch each section as you go and then we'll have some integrity.

Anyway, I've just confirmed that I am anal about stuff, or just would like to be a perfectionist, depending on your take of course. Whatever, I think the results are like that famous quote from Eric Morecambe 'I played all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order'. This probably means the totals are correct but location wrong. (In a perfect world you'd all bring a friend to observe, we wouldn't have this bother then.)

Some of you missed sections or forgot to punch them so you may see 5s you don't think you had. If you would like, I can photograph your cards and email them to you.
