Welsh 2 Day Enduro 2006

Words by Colin Jones. Photos by Viv and Colin Jones and day 2 shots by Drew Moore

Day One... Day Two... Other Year's reports: 2007, 2005, 2004

Day 1 report is below with Day 2 to follow very soon. We also have Vess's report which probably should be titled 'What! No Hangover?' And now Ben has recovered we have his report And Anthony's too

Day One:

Weather looked perfect for a Welsh. Not too hot. Not too damp. I managed to miss the start for our club riders but caught some of the action at the Special Tests and a brief look at some of the course in the Tarenig forest.

We've finished editing our video clips. (Click the Names) Lee Hook, Roy Breakwell, Jim Delahay, Vess (filmed by guest cameraman A4 Allen), Mike Wells, Ben F, Ant Moore.

Until then have a look at how it should be done by... You'll have to click to see. (14MB mpg)

You will have noticed the distinct lack of photos on the right but never fear, I can bore you with tons of shots that Viv and I took. To save me time I have cheated with an automated gallery until we update the site properly. Have a look through and just drop me an email if you want a full size top quality version. You can send them straight to a printing firm and receive a glossy print through the post if you want. I'll write some instructions here soon on how to do it.

A group of us on the second test thoroughly enjoyed watching the Cat and Mouse game our president had set up. Roy had let Jim Delahay go first into the test. So some considerable seconds later Roy tears off in hot pursuit to catch the talented Gentleman Jim. Unfortunately I didn't spot Roy until half way around and only then started filming. I completely missed the fact that young Jim was just in front and being reeled in corner by corner. That is, until the final few bends where I'm sure Roy's ex-motocross techniques were employed to finish off his victim.

It was good to see many of our Wyegate Trial riders out, and in the spirit of the event, riding the less than obvious Bikes. Andrew Weddle for one, on his Ex-Gaunt CZ. In the same vein it would have been nice to see a certain Knight fellow on his unlikely 950KTM but it was sadly not to be.

The good bit was at the end of the test we think all our riders had been accounted for and looked intact!

We've now seen the results and can list how our riders got on.
