First report is in from Simon but don't let that stop anyone else from sending their comments in.

8 of our local West Glos riders went to Cirencester park on Sunday 10 Sept. (Well there were probably more like 15 members when we include the Wyegate riders too! ed.)

Steve Biddle on his jet propelled XR400 took a class win in E2 setting a blistering time over the 2 special tests.

Rikki Lane also fared extremely well picking up a well deserved silver.

Mike Wells took gold in E2 deftly threading his KTM around a very tight course.

Further down the field in the more competitive sportsman competition, a battle royal was developing between Roy & Jim, resulting in Roy's premature withdrawal,  leaving Jim to go on for a bronze award.

Glenn Thomas was a non starter, complaining about a back problem, probably a touch of Sherco'itis.

I started 2 minutes in front of Dave Pinney- see red rag, bull etc. After one lap he appeared just as I was leaving the pits, I never saw him again, for my efforts I dropped 60 secs on the last lap & picked up a bronze.

Now then, when I finished Glenn was waiting in the pits, gingerly carrying Dave's gear back to the van, when I asked why, I was informed that Dave was not on site, but laid up in Cirencester hospital, apparently with a very high pitched voice, after a knacker to tank interface problem, later in hospital, he was heard to say "I'm fine" several times, but always through clenched teeth, daddy's little trooper bless him.

Many thanks to SDMCC for another very well organised event.

Colin Adds:

Roy Says from a telephone interview: "That bloomin Jim was motoring! I tried to catch him in the test, starting 20 seconds after I should be able to see him at least but no way. I went and overshot a corner near the end and that was because I was convinced he was just in front!" Jim's test times were good enough for a Silver in the clubman class so he's improving with age. I remember seeing Jim ride here 26 years's ago on his Greeves, I must dig out the results to see how he got on then.

Roy also said that he had more than a couple of session underneath the bike and Mike Wells, being the gentleman that he is, was there to lift the bike off him... yeah, but not until he'd whipped his phone out for a photo! Did they come out Mike? Pretty Please! Roy did do more laps than were shown but was struggling with a new Helmet and goggles. (We'll call that excuse No.359 then Roy.) Ben F says "With the Welsh that makes it one all." can't wait for round 3!
